Every Friday, Crossroads Maldives will host a Street Market to promote local small-to-medium enterprises.
The Street Market will begin on Eid-al-Fitr, which follows immediately after Ramadan, according to the Maldives’ first integrated tourism island.
On Fridays, the market will be held at the Marina at Crossroads between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The stalls will be free of charge, according to Crossroads Maldives, in an effort to reduce the costs of SMEs and startups.
The Street Market will be modeled after the ‘Thai Night Market’ concept.
The resort also stated that the market’s goal is to provide a fun environment for visitors to experience and purchase a variety of products from local businesses.
Crossroads also stated that it hopes to build up the local SME scene through the market.
According to Crossroads Maldives, the market will provide an excellent opportunity for startups, sole proprietors, and creatives to showcase their talent and products.
Participation in the Street Market is now open to all registered local vendors and businesses ranging from food and beverage to arts and crafts.
